Nomination Showcase

Sydney Design Awards - EOFY Early Bird Extension to 30 June

We’ve extended the early bird deadline to give everyone an opportunity to submit their nominations before 30 June and benefit from the early bird rate.  Exciting news as this year the Sydney Design Awards presentation will be part of the Design Summit [SYD], including the design economy forum to be held at the Australian Design Centre’s fabulous new premises. There will be more announcements next week but rest assured there’s never been a better time to get involved. Nominate and join the shortlist now.

Revised categories, more winners

We’ve had a mini revamp.  Taking stock from feedback received and our own reflection, we’ve done a review of our categories and consolidated into 20 open categories and 5 Best of the Best which we believe are more relevant to the 2015 marketplace.  While the list is shorter, with both gold and silver winners being awarded, there will be 50% more trophies than 2015 in the UK [app]design awards.  The deadline is looming so why not see what’s changed and see where you fit – now is your opportunity to join the shortlist and be in the running for a gold or silver award.

The Design 100 - 1505, NYC2015

We've had a great couple of weeks, thanks to those who have helped kick-off the 2015 New York Design Awards.

This week we've got updates on new opportunities for Studio Partners andSupplier Partners. We've also got our first Advisory Panel release.

Nominations are flowing through the process and some have even dropped. Make sure you stop in at the nominations shortlist regularly to see what's new.

It always amazes me the breadth of nominations we see, from a 3D printed bike storage clip to the National September 11 Memorial Museum.

You have little under a week until 6th April to get your early bird nominations in, the 20th for standard and for those who are running late, there's a late deadline of 26th April.

Make sure you're following us on Facebook as we'll be posting shortlisted nominations and other promos throughout the next 2 weeks.

Richard Branson answers why invest so much effort in design?

Designers can impact the financial performance of a company. Fast Company - Mark Wilson

WHAT PAST WINNERS ARE SAYING

REA Group: When we entered the awards, our realestate.com.au mobile apps had been downloaded over 1.2 million times (now over 2 million!) and our latest updates had received great feedback from consumers. The awards were an opportunity for our apps to be recognised by the people who use them as well as the broader mobile industry. As you can imagine, we were pretty chuffed to win a Mobie and kudos goes to our project team who created the winning iPhone and iPad universal app.

John Douglas, JDA Architects."JDA Architects were delighted to recieve a Melbourne Design Award for our Imaging at Olympic Park fitout. In particular we valued the recognition through a broader design community than from just within our own profession. The fact that the Melbourne Design Awards covered such a variety of design disciplines helped make the programme a worthwhile statement about the state of design in Melbourne, and to be an award winner in such company is very rewarding. Further our clients are thrilled to bits and now proudly display their copy of the award at their centre."
