Best New Service or Application

Description

This can be any new service or application from a start-up to an industry leader. It’s not just bells and whistles we're after but true innovation, exceeding expectations and filling a void that had previously been open.

Nominations - Best New Service or Application

eyeWitness to Atrocities - The International Bar Association / Compsoft

Best New Service or Application

- Silver

eyeWitness to Atrocities captures images, video and audio through a disguised camera app - the app icon is designed to look like a third-party camera, preventing recognition without detailed inspection. Media is recorded along with comprehensive device metadata such as GPS location, date, time and content verification data. Users have the option to add notes and tags to the content, which is stored in a secure in-app Vault rather than the device’s image gallery. The media is then uploaded to a secure server, where it can be reviewed by the IBA’s team of experts.

Foundations Pulse - CHS Engineering Services LTD

Best New Service or Application

- Silver

We provided a manual machine monitoring service to monitor critical baggage assets at London’s largest airport. This service included collection of data such as vibration readings, temperature and humidity, manually downloading these from our installed sensors, then process the information to identify early signs of failure. – This process took up to a week per round. This solution as it was had various limitations and drawbacks such as, limited availability of data, speed of access, time to review and many more. This service included sending engineers to machines daily to collect and process critical performance information.

999eye - West Midlands Fire Service / Pocket App

Best New Service or Application

- Silver

Pocket App, the UK’s largest independent app developer, worked in collaboration with the West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) to create a new mobile solution, 999eye, with the intention of using a smartphone to transform the way incident information is communicated to the emergency services. With 999eye, emergency callers can stream live footage from an incident to the emergency operator, providing real-time information for first responders en-route, tactical level managers, strategic leaders and partner agencies. The end goal for 999eye is to enable emergency operators to determine the most effective response for an emergency, and to ultimately save lives.

eva - the real video social network - Forbidden Technologies plc / WAE (We Are Experience)

Best New Service or Application

We are submitting eva, a revolutionary facing video social network, which aims at becoming the perfect medium for millions of consumers to easily share extraordinary experiences and indescribable moments via video. Eva was created by global service design consultancy, WAE in partnership with Forbidden Technologies. With its beauty, simplicity and addictiveness, eva is designed to do the same for video.

REALRIDER® - REALRIDER® / Gospelware

Best New Service or Application

- Gold

REALRIDER® is an application for motorcycle enthusiasts, an online community for journey sharing that also promotes road safety. The idea was pioneered following information from Great North Air Ambulance that indicated a problem between motorcycle crashes and rescue. Accidents often occur on rural roads where a rider is solo at the point of crash, and finding them within the ‘golden hour’ is imperative to boost survival chances. This app bridges the gap between crash and recovery, alerting emergency services if a rider is in trouble, and in turn offers riders peace of mind when out on the road.
