Friday 4 December: Winners of the 2015 UK [app] Design Awards have been announced by design100 Founder Mark Bergin including the Best Studio less than 5 – rendeevoo, 5 to 20, Lexel and for the 2nd consecutive year, Best Studio to 20+, Compsoft. 55 winners have been awarded in over 20 categories covering B2B, Innovation, Community, Lifestyle, Finance & mCommerce and Health & Well Being.

Selected winning projects are to be interviewed at the Design Summit [LON] to be held at The Proud Archivist on Thursday 10 December. The Design Summit will explore the projects across 4 themes - Design Courage, The Design Economy, Made for People and Future Now and will be hosted by renowned Australian presenter Fenella Kernebone assisted by panel members, local design experts and Founder, Mark Bergin.

Design100 and [app] Design Awards Founder Mark Bergin said "the acceleration of design in the apps market continues unabated. In the past arms races have been about strength, domination and control. The digital economy has transformed from a tech lead to design lead; users will drop an app at lightning speed if it’s not on trend, not in the behavioural pattern of a fast changing world. Again we’ve seen long hall app brands innovate, come up with something astounding and take the challenge up to the new disrupters. There is no way a single statement can summarise the diversity of projects, innovation and disruption covered throughout the awards – the only recommendation I have is attend the summit, immerse yourself with the inside stories and learn how others are creating award winning projects."

Silver winners include: Minicabster, Best App Startup - Minicabster Ltd, BMW ConnectedDrive and BMW i Remote app, Best Connected Device and Wearable Tech - BMW Group, 999eye, Best New Service or Application - West Midlands Fire Service / Pocket App, My Tabs App, Business Operations - Global iLabs Ltd, Formworks, Business Platforms - Digital Field Solutions / Compsoft, My Poppy, Community - News UK / Pocket App, Virgin Media Retail Apps Suite, Business Operations - Virgin Media / Ocasta Studios, BBC iPlayer, Nutracheck Calorie Counter App, Helath - NutraTech Limited, Entertainment & Leisure – BBC and Gate Gourmet, Business Operations - Lexel iHR System - Gate Gourmet / Lexel.
